La Carrera Panamericana Tour

June 5, 2007

Gerie Bledso, the North American rep for La Carrera Panamericana historic racing is putting together a Tour Group package to come and watch the 2007 La Carrera Panamericana. Below is his dispatch and email information if you would like to attend.

From Gerie:

It’s time to make a decision about this unique opportunity.

We have arranged an escorted tour for friends and family of competitors. The tour will include a variety of activities: watching a few stages of the race (of course), visits to historical sites, walking tours, shopping, and an introduction to real Mexican cuisine.

The price is $2900 for seven nights. Participants will be meet in Mexico City at the airport Fiesta Inn and transported by van to Oaxaca for the first day of the race. They can also fly to Oaxaca and join the tour there on October 26. It is also possible to fly into Mexico City or Morelia and meet the tour after the race has started. Transportation may be arranged back to the airport in Mexico City after the race leaves Zacatecas on November 1 for a flight out on Nov. 2.

If you or yours are interested please let me know soon. (Gerie Bledso Gbledso@aol.com) We need a minimum of six paid participants to make it work. Here’s a list of hotels.

Oct. 25 - Mexico City — Fiesta Inn Aeropuerto
Oct. 26 - Oaxaca — Hotel Victoria
Oct. 27 - Puebla — Fiesta Ameicana
Oct. 28 - Queretaro — Holiday Inn Zona Diamante
Oct. 29 - Morelia — Fiesta Inn
Oct. 30 - Guanauato — Fiesta Inn or Castilla de Stanta Cecilla
Oct. 31 - Zacatecas — Emperio

The escort personnel are very familiar with the race. All hotels will be as good or better than the regular Pan Am hotels. This tour is not an official part of the race.

This is the best way to afford friends a way to experience the race and learn a lot about our host country. No, we will not leave anyone down there on purpose.
